This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Ruislip Man and Van takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. As a provider of removals and man and van services, we recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to conduct business in an ethical and transparent manner.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Ruislip Man and Van adopts a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, servitude, child labour and any form of exploitation. We are committed to acting with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

All directors, managers, employees, contractors and agency workers are required to comply with this policy and to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. Any breach of this policy by our staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Ruislip Man and Van operates primarily within the removals and logistics sector. Our activities involve the use of vehicles, equipment, and storage facilities, and we rely on a range of suppliers and subcontractors to support our services. These include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, cleaning and facilities contractors, and recruitment agencies.

We recognise that certain parts of our supply chain, particularly temporary labour, outsourced services and international manufacturing of equipment, may carry a higher risk of modern slavery. We therefore assess these areas with particular care and implement proportionate checks and controls.

Due Diligence and Supplier Audits

We seek to work only with suppliers and subcontractors that share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our due diligence process, we assess prospective suppliers on their labour and human rights practices, including the existence of their own modern slavery policies and procedures.

Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we carry out supplier audits and reviews. These may include obtaining written confirmations and declarations from suppliers regarding their compliance with modern slavery legislation, requesting evidence of their policies, training and procedures, and reviewing any published statements. For higher risk suppliers or sectors, we may request additional information or assurances and reserve the right to conduct more detailed checks.

We expect suppliers to cascade equivalent standards to their own supply chains and to take immediate corrective action if any issues are identified. Failure by a supplier to meet our standards or to remedy concerns may result in the termination of our commercial relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Ruislip Man and Van encourages a culture of openness, where concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. All employees, contractors, temporary workers, suppliers and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of exploitation, unsafe conditions, or unfair treatment related to our operations or supply chains.

Concerns may be raised directly with management or through our established reporting and grievance channels. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will work with relevant authorities or specialist organisations to address and remedy any substantiated concerns. We will not tolerate any victimisation of individuals who raise concerns in good faith.

Training and Awareness

We aim to promote awareness of modern slavery across our workforce so that potential indicators of abuse or exploitation can be recognised and acted upon. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, are provided with guidance on identifying risk factors and responding to concerns.

We will continue to review and enhance our training and awareness initiatives to ensure that they reflect current best practice and legal requirements.

Monitoring, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by the leadership of Ruislip Man and Van to ensure that it remains accurate, effective and aligned with our legal obligations and ethical commitments. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our actions, including supplier due diligence, audits, reporting mechanisms and staff awareness.

We are committed to continuous improvement and will update our policies, procedures and controls as necessary to strengthen our approach to preventing modern slavery. Any significant changes or new measures identified during the review process will be implemented and communicated across the business and, where relevant, to our suppliers.
